Other types of prohibited harassment\, discrimination\, retaliation\, and abusive conduct will also be covered in an interactive format. Supervisors will learn how to recognize problems and about their responsibility in the prevention of sexual harassment\, discrimination\, retaliation\, and abusive conduct.  \n\n\n\nTopics include reporting\, bystander intervention\, investigating and resolving complaints\, parameters of confidentiality\, and practical tips on how to stay out of trouble and keep your workplace harassment-free. \n\n\n\nIn the past\, only California employers with 50 or more employees were required to provide sexual harassment prevention training—and only to supervisors. Effective 1/1/19\, SB1343 requires all California employers with five (5) or more employees to provide harassment prevention training.

Smaller practices in ambulatory settings\, such as dental and specialty practices\, incur unique risks given limitations in infrastructure and funding. In response to the increase in violent incidents\, California passed legislation that requires employers\, (including dental and specialty practices)\, to adopt a workplace violence prevention plan. \n\n\n\nHarbor Dental Society is here to deliver all valued members a timely ‘live’ CE Webinar to comply with this new California law to help educate you and your dental team with a Workplace Violence Prevention Plan following best practices for the dental practice. \n\n\n\nOn July 1\, 2024\, dental and specialty practices in California must implement a written workplace violence prevention plan. The plan must include specific criteria such as response procedures to specified threats (e.g. shelter in place or evacuation)\, trainings\, annual updates\, etc.

He joined the faculty as a lecturer in 2012 and also had a practice limited to Orofacial Pain. He is involved with the American Academy of Orofacial Pain and the American Board of Orofacial Pain. His interest is to promote Orofacial Pain education to healthcare providers and students as well as the integration of Orofacial Pain education into dental education curricula.

DESCRIPTION:OSHA / Infection Control with Eiman Rahnama: In the United States\, the government agency responsible for worker safety is the Occupational Safety and Health Administration otherwise known as OSHA. \n\n\n\nOSHA’s Bloodborne Pathogens standard is a federal OSHA regulation (29 CFR 1910.1030) that prescribes safeguards to protect staff against health hazards from exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials and to reduce their risk from this exposure. In some states\, it has been mandated that all Medical and Dental Staff do Aerosol Transmitted Diseases (ATD) training once a year to prevent the spread of ATDs. \n\n\n\nCDPA with Levi Barlavi: This course will satisfy the Category I Course requirement for the California Dental Practice Act. Upon completion of this course\, the attendee will have a comprehensive understanding of the laws of the Dental Practice Act. The course will review the laws of the Dental Practice Act and will review the numerous dental board cases applying such laws. The review of the laws and the cases shall give the attendee a better understanding of how the laws of the Dental Practice Act and their individual actions can impact their ability to practice dentistry in the state of California.
