A statement from CDA President Dr. Judee Tippett-Whyte:

The California Dental Association, representing 27,000 dentists, is strongly supportive of Gov. Gavin Newsom’s proposed budget. Specifically, CDA applauds Gov. Newsom for his investments to promote greater health equity through workforce development, oral health care improvements and vaccine distribution. One of the greatest opportunities to improve the health of Californians is the proposed continuation of investments in the Medi-Cal program. By committing additional resources to dental services as well as continuing the Proposition 56 funding, Gov. Newsom is ensuring that these critical supplemental payments, loan repayments to providers as well as funding the Office of Oral Health will continue to benefit all Californians. CDA is committed to working closely on these critical issues with the governor to help the state recover from the public health and economic challenges of the past year.
