The foundation of long-lasting restorations is laid before treatment even begins. This first day focuses on comprehensive case planning, biomechanical considerations, and the strategic selection of materials that maximize function and longevity. Participants will learn how to assess cases holistically and implement strategies that reduce the risk of early failure.

Key Objectives:
Develop Predictable Treatment Planning Strategies

  • Identify key diagnostic factors that influence long-term restorative success.
  • Use orthodontic interventions to improve function and conserve tooth structure.
  • Assess variables that impact material wear and failure.

Optimize Material Selection for Longevity

  • Explore advancements in composites, ceramics, and bioactive materials.
  • Understand how wear resistance, bond strength, and fracture toughness influence outcomes.
  • Choose materials based on function, location, and patient-specific considerations.

Hands-On Workshop: Posterior Composite Excellence

  • Master simple layering techniques to improve efficiency and aesthetics.
  • Apply finishing and polishing protocols to enhance stain resistance.
  • Utilize bonding protocols designed for long-term success.

Aesthetic restorations must be designed for more than just visual appeal—they need to maintain integrity over time. The second day shifts focus to composite veneers, indirect restorations, and the critical steps that prevent premature failure. This includes polishing techniques, surface treatments, and maintenance strategies that protect against staining, wear, and breakdown.

Key Objectives:
Advanced Composite Techniques for Aesthetic Longevity

  • Guided direct composite veneers: enhancing predictability and efficiency
  • Layering techniques to mimic natural tooth morphology
  • Managing color stability and preventing staining over time

Indirect Veneers and Partial Coverage Restorations

  • Material selection and preparation principles
  • Provisionalization techniques to protect and maintain gingival health
  • Long-term maintenance considerations for indirect restorations

Elevating Composite Restorations for Longevity

  • Practical application of finishing techniques to enhance stain resistance
  • Using the right polishing protocols for long-term gloss retention
  • Maintenance-friendly bonding techniques to minimize failure

Protecting and Maintaining Aesthetic Restorations

  • Post-treatment protocols for longevity, including at-home and in-office care
  • Strategies to prevent wear and fractures in aesthetic restorations
  • How to educate patients on maintaining their restorations for lasting results
